我們曾救過過百隻水池龜，其實可以生存而給人領養的是少於一半，
大多數龜隻在池水中已感染病菌，
獸醫亦用過多種爬行動物可用的抗生素也不能殺掉那些病菌，結果大多數龜隻也是死亡。
所以從表面上看似放生去一個比家中更大的水池，實際上是放去一個毒池，並等待死亡，
當池中龜隻數量太多時，結果也是人道毀滅。
協會除了救助動物外，還有領養、教育、保育等工作，
我們實在不能用所有的資源來救池龜，雖心感悲痛但亦無能為力，
要減低悲劇再發生，最重要還是從教育着手，龜是長壽動物，
隨時有幾十年命，飼養前最緊要是停一停，諗一諗，
牠病了會否帶牠去看獸醫？其實養任何動物，都有責任將牠養至終老。
